Issue 3.3 celebration and exhibition with Spencer Tunick and Alina Simone, June 2011
Abe's Penny published mailable art and literature from March 2009 through February 2013. Each four-part series featured an image and text collaboration printed on postcards. Subscribers received one postcard every week, with a new series beginning each month. Abe's Penny was based in Brooklyn, NY.
Independently published by sisters Anna and Tess Knoebel, Abe's Penny sought to change the way our overscheduled and overstimulated audience consumed art and literature.
In January 2013, the Museum of Modern Art Library purchased the full Abe's Penny archive for its permanent collection. In September 2014, the Brooklyn Museum Library also purchased the full archive for its permanent collection.
